Poll: Has Sarah Palin Energized You?

Thursday September 4, 2008

Now's Your Chance to Voice Your Opinion: Vote Today!

The verdict's finally in from a cross section of bipartisan pundits: Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's acceptance speech was, at minimum, successful -- and most are calling it one of the best political speeches in recent political history.

It's no secret that the GOP's conservative base has been energized by Palin's VP nomination, but many pundits are saying her speech on Sept. 3 might just put the Republicans over the top in November.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin holds her son, Trig, after delivering her VP acceptance speech on Sept. 3, 2008 Since her nomination, Democrats and liberals have descended on her with criticism that has been at times fair and at other times viciously unfair. To Democrat Barack Obama's credit, he's done his best to raise legitimate questions about Palin's record and has strongly rebuked those on his side of the aisle (and in the media) who have raised questions about her family and/or her ability to lead because she's a mother. The rest of the left, however, apparently has not gotten the message or simply refuse to follow Obam's lead because their vitriol has never been more venemous.

Their attacks on Palin and her family are grounded in one thing: fear. It's the only thing that can explain why they've amped up their tired rhetoric. The Democrats now realize their path to the presidency isn't as certain as they thought -- and it scares them.

Cast your vote now and tell us whether Palin did enough to energize you. If you were on the fence, did she win you over? Use the comment link below to tell us why or why not.

Welp. According to your own poll 47% say they are less likely to vote for McCain since she has been selected. Only 38% say they are more likely. People are looking at Obama and once again he has shown himself to be an honorable man. He says her family is off limits, she mocks his community service work he did after college, Obama honors McCains service and McCain compares Obama to Britney Spears. Voters are watching and according to every national poll they are favoring Obama.

The poll Wayne is not a true measure of hardliners but rather a simple sample vote of 110 ppl thus far, and IMO mostly aimed for swing votes, but getting Hardliners. I say this, just because Obama has not lashed out personally does not mean things like tha last week this woman has experienced are not encouraged from behind the scene. I hope most American’s are intelligent enough to Zoom out and take a careful look at each ticket. If we do that as individuals then we have preserved the sacred portion of the voting system. Vote for principal’s and not tag lines from either side.

I had desided to sit this election out until I heard Sarah Palin. For once a woman comes out and really has something to say. Unlike Hillary trying to hard to compete with the big boys including her disgraced husband. This lady will stand up to the biggest including the big mouth Joe Biden. Her husband clearly supports her with a big smile and eyes full of love. I do not believe this lady will go quitely like Hillary. Bye the way why hasn,t Hillary been heard of since Sarah Palin?

I am 69 years old and have watched conventions all my adult life waiting for someone who talks like I do, thinks like I do, was raised like I was, and thinks the democrats and republicans have revolved into self orintated, self serving hypocrytes that need a good dose of “real people” to take them down a few notches. Sarah is my choice to help Mac to do that.

WAKE UP WOMEN! Will you always relegate yourselves to second class citizens. The Democrates said “No” to probably the most powerful and influential women in American politics today or maybe ever, Hillary Clinton. For a variety of reasons you rejected her. Forget her husband, he’s old news. Hillary is her own woman. Then Senator Obama rejected her for good old boy Joe Biden. Sorry, but the Dems could have locked up the election with Hillary on the ticket and women would finally have made it to the top. But that’s not what happened. Now John McCain passed up boring Joe Lieberman for an outstanding woman, Sarah Palin. Sarah has plenty of experience, and what experience she is short on is quickly gained. Imagine how awkward it would be for Iranian President Abedinejad to have to negotiate with Vice President Palin! Sarah would hold her own and knows how to work her gender to her advantage. Women of America have a choice to make. Particularly Democratic women. Vote the party line or vote the first woman into the white house. How important is it to hold party lines as opposed to voting you heart. You had two chances. One is gone the next is this November. If you don’t take this opportunity now, it is likely lost for another generation. You were so close.

(6) Mike says:

I believe Sarah Palin speaks as my family speaks. She believes in the core values that I was taught as a kid, but that for some reason politicians are afraid to support. She has dropped conventional wisdom in favor of solid values.

(7) Erik says:

Did you know that Obama and his wife were long-time member of the Illinois Independence Party which fought to secede from the United States, and whose founder expressed “hatred for the American government” and cursed the American flag as a “damn flag.”….Oh wait! That was Sarah Pailin and HER husband, and it was the Alaska Independence Party! Do you guys care about anything other than a person’s position on abortion and guns? If not, I got some homeless people you guys can run in 2012!!

Reading postings such as Mike’s, I would say that the country is going down, because of such ignorance and unpatriotic stand!

Mike, do you like Palin because she is so mine? I would think you choose Obama’s good policies than the cult of personality!

If you like Iraq, you would love Iran!

(9) Ken Hanson says:

It’s to bad Gov. Palin has to be tied to McCain or anyone in Washington. If she could dump McCain & run for president on her own she would win. Maybe down the road that will happen. G. Bush drove me out of the Republican Party, & Sarah can’t bring me back because McCain is another 4 years of Bush. How much more damage can that man do before he leaves office? What’s next after Freddie-Fannie?

(10) Lizz says:

Palin is an ignorant right wing conservative. Hypocrite and liar about the facts and as a republican I am embarassed and ashamed everyone thinks we are all this stupid.

Grow up and tell the truth and stop lying about facts which are evident.

(11) Allie says:

Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air! She has really motivated me to vote for the Republican party. I have to admit, I wasn’t very supportive of Mccain… he just isn’t conservative enough for me.. but Palin… now she is a winner!

September 14, 2008 at 8:48 pm
(12) Teresa says:

Wow Lizz you know how to use that “cut, copy, past” real well. I doubt very much if you are a republican, because republicans do not carry that much anger…go away.

(13) Patsy says:

While I would love to be able to vote for a woman to finally get into the White House, I simply cannot condone the choice of Sarah Palin. She is a mother who uses her children as props on the national political stage, who claims to be an advocate for special needs children AFTER she tried to cut funding for the Special Olympics in Alaksa, and who stated that she did not stop to think even for a moment before accepting the VP position on the party’s ticket while she has young children at home and a pregnant teenager who needs her. This does not reflect “Country First” — it reflects “ME First”. I think she is a poor role model for women, for parents, and for the Republican Party. John McCain could have done much, much better.
