Charlton Heston, R.I.P.

Charlton Heston was laid to rest in Los Angeles yesterday, with all the star-studded style afforded to a silver screen icon and American patriot.
Despite the efforts of people like filmmaker Michael Moore, who exploited Heston’s Alzheimers-related dimentia in an effort to discredit him for his own personal gain, Heston’s reputation for standing stalwartly by his convictions despite the consequences, as well as his Hollywood legacy, went to the grave with him untarnished.
For what he will be remembered for most remains to be seen. Moses? George Taylor? Ben-Hur? The relentless preserver of our second amendment rights? The champion of the homeless? He was all these things and more, and by all accounts he did everything well.
As an actor, he was an academy-award winner. As a conservative political activist, he was idolized. As a man, he was known for doing what he felt was right, even when it was unpopular.
As a legend, he will be remembered.
