With all the layoffs, cutbacks and pay-rate reductions, making ends meet is getting tougher for the American worker. And while it's one thing to be disappointed with the way democrats have handled the economic crisis -- it's quite another to survive it. If you've been affected by the recession, what advice can you offer fellow conservatives on how to work through it? How are YOU surviving?

Plan and save

We were retired with much of our retirement money in stocks all of which had stop losses in August of 2007 so we were automatically out of the market then. We moved into individual bonds (not bond funds)==corporates in the IRA account and municipals in the taxable account. Although the values have gone down as much as 30% everyone is paying as promised.
