According to Fox News, Obama has already spent $100M in television ads this cycle, with 75% being negative attack ads targeting Romney. Within that total, at least $20 Million of the ad money has been placed in Ohio, a state where Obama only spent $26 Million in television ads in all of 2007 and 2008. That $100M figure is more than 4 times what Romney has spent, who is building a cash supply while Obama is out-spending his fundraising.
The biggest turnaround for Republicans in 2012 is the one thing that will enable conservatives to capitalize on the post-2008 advantages is money. President Obama is already vilifying the "Republican money machine" and complaining about money in politics in this year's election. Simply ignore that the Obama campaign ran the most expensive campaign in US history in 2008, destroyed McCain in the ad wars, is currently outraising and spending Romney, and bragged about wanting to bring in $1 billion this year. Here is a refresher of the enormous cash advantage Obama used to defeat McCain in 12 swing states four years ago:Florida: Obama $37M, McCain $10M (O 51-48%)
North Carolina: Obama $15M, McCain $4M (O 49.6-49.4%)
Virginia: Obama $26M, McCain $8M (53-46%)
Wisconsin: Obama $12M, McCain $8M (O 56-42%)
