Happy Independence Day everyone.
It's important to remember what this day is all about.... hot dogs!
I kid, I kid. We all know those must have been banned by now.
But seriously, go buy some Asparagus and toss it on the grill, too. It's very good for you. What, you don't want asparagus? Well, your tax on that will be $7 then. I call this the Robertax: A Tax on a product you didn't buy!
If you work for the government and you have the day off, please take the time and read the US Constitution and The Declaration of Independence. For everyone in the "doing fine" employment sector, I hope you get off in time for the fireworks display! And if you are in the military, thanks for everything. But we need no holiday to remember to do that. We thank you every day.
Today might also be a good day to check out some of the top conservative movies of the last couple of years. The founding father definitely approve.
Finally, as we celebrate and remember (hopefully for the right reasons), let's remember that it is called Independence Day, not Dependence Day. And perhaps we can let today be the day we reverse the trend of big government that has seen record levels of food stamp usage, record levels of disability benefit payouts, and record number usage of "the Obama Phone." Party on, friends!
