Since his inauguration one week ago today, President Barack Obama has set a frantic pace for implementing his liberal agenda, but nothing is more telling about what his plans are for this country than the so-called "stimulus" package he has drafted with his Democratic cohorts in Congress to the tune of $825 billion.
Of course, the most infamous part of the plan is the $200 million House Speaker Nancy Pelosi included to reimburse states for the establishment and implementation of birth control programs. While $200 million may not seem like that much, keep in mind that the plan calls for just $100 million for faith-based and community organization to "provide critical safety net services to needy individuals and families."
Saying that she has "the most to prove" with the plan, Pelosi brazenly told ABC's George Stephanopoulos that "family planning services reduce cost ... contraception will reduce cost to the state and to the federal government, too."
In the wake of the outcry Pelosi's comments generated, Democrats have backed away from the proposal and are expected to remove that funding from the plan.
Nevertheless, the fact that birth control funding was included in the plan at all is a sign that Democrats will not be shy about implementing their agenda, and while this is an obvious and overt attempt to implement the Democrats' agenda, less obvious -- but equally as telling -- are some of the other parts of the plan, which not only include earmarks galore, but also form a blueprint of sorts of the liberal spending spree that is undoubtedly to come.
For example, ACORN, the group that allegedly submitted thousands of fraudulent voter registration forms on Obama's behalf in both the primary and general elections, has the one of the largest stakes in the passage of the bill thanks to $4 billion in "neighborhood stabilization" earmarks.
Meanwhile, funding for things like military recruitment, which would have a direct effect on job creation, is nowhere to be found in the plan. View the Democrats' stimulus plan propaganda for yourself. Pay particular attention to how this press summary conspicuously omits both the birth control funding and the "neighborhood stabilization" earmarks, yet proudly proclaims, "There are no earmarks in this package."
If conservatives want to see what the new administration and the Democratically-controlled Congress have in store for the country, all that's necessary is for them to take read the tea leaves of the raw, unmodified stimulus proposal.
Judging from the funding proposed in the plan, the kinds of jobs Democrats want to create is clear: primarily low-income and aimed at expanding the base of the working class. Meanwhile, some of the clean-air protections called for in the plan actually create a burden for those same working class Americans by elevating manufacturing costs for things like vehicles. Thus, the "stimulus" plan actually creates more poverty-level jobs, while at the same time ensuring that any chance for upward mobility is next to impossible.
And that's the very essence of the Democrats' liberal agenda in America: Since Democrats pitch themselves as the party of the working class, it is in their interest to make sure there is an ample working class to support them. This means expanding the the base of poverty-level working class Americans and ensuring that they remain poverty level working class Americans.

I am astonished that people are not alarmed at this stimulus bill, Acorn proved to be deceitful and actually stole alot of the elections by their fraudulent votes.
All Americans that care about this, need to get involved with the disgraceful pork bills Obama is trying to pass(quicklyL.
Chris;
People are VERY alarmed about this “stimulus” package, that’s why it failed miserably in the House (everyone except the loony left voted against it). This article is dead on in its assessment of what this “stimulus” package can accomplished: creating some poverty level “workfare” jobs at an extraordinary expense and harm the economy long term by adding a huge pile on top of an already enormous pile of national debt. The interests payment alone to finance this “stimulus” package will run in the range of 300 billion dollars. We need only to look at 1933 and FDR to know what’s going to happen to this country with Obama’s plan. FDR went on a spending spree after taking office in january, 1933, for “infrastructure” and other government sponsored work projects just like Obama is proposing. The result for FDR’s “stimulus” plan was that the Great Depression lasted another 7 full years. History is about to repeat itself.
