Multiple sources are reporting today that Sarah Palin is planning to make an appearance this weekend on NBC's Saturday Night Live.
If true, this would be an excellent chance for Palin to generate some much-needed positive publicity for the McCain/Palin campaign, while also reaching out to a younger generation of voters. She'll also get to rub elbows with guest-host Josh Brolin, star of W., the recently released film that's loosely focused on the life of President George W. Bush, while also picking up some comedy tips from her comedic alter-ego, Tina Fey.
Palin's possible appearance on SNL would also show the world that she has the ability to poke fun at herself, just as Republican nominee John McCain and his Democratic opponent Barack Obama did last night at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation dinner.
I know it's probably too much to ask, but if Hillary Clinton were to appear side-by-side with Sarah Palin, across from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, this episode of SNL would undoubtedly make television history.
I won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen, though, because I have a feeling Palin will do just fine on her own.
