Conservatives & the Wall Street Bailout Plan

Monday September 22, 2008
US Treasury Building in Washington DC

What do conservatives have to say about the federal government's plan to spend $700 billion to bail out the ailing financial markets? Was the bailout necessary? And, if so, why do conservatives oppose it?

These are two of the most frequently asked questions I receive regarding the federal bailout proposal. To help give in-depth answers to these questions, I've compiled a short list of answers. I'll be adding to this list as the questions come in. Feel free to e-mail me with your question about conservative attitudes toward the federal bailout plan, and I'll do my best to answer it.
