Wordless Wednesday: The One They Came To See in Lancaster, Pa.

After the campaign rally at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. on Sept. 9, 2008, Sarah Palin spoke with supporters outside the event, who couldn't get in due to fire code restrictions and thanked them for coming.
All through the day, whenever Palin went anywhere, the decible levels that greeted her were higher than at any other point in the day -- and surpassed those of even John McCain, who is atop the GOP ticket.

Am I the only one who finds a problem with this? Sarah Palin is not the one running for President, John McCain is. The fact that she’s such a celebrity bothers me the same way that Obama’s celebrity status did (and still does). I had kind of hoped that this election would be about policy issues for once, now it seems like a clash of egos.
