Wordless Wednesday: The Obamas & The New Yorker

Wednesday July 16, 2008
Barack and Michelle Obama on the cover of The New Yorker

The cover of The New Yorker magazine is seen July 14, 2008 in New York City. The satirical illustration on the cover depicting Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama dressed in traditional Arab garb and his wife Michelle Obama dressed in military fatigues and carrying an assault rifle is generating controversy.

(1) Robert Hamer says:

I think Rush Limbaugh said it best when he asked, “When was the last time you remember a bunch of people complaining about a satirical cartoon?”

The New Yorker is a bleeding-heart liberal publication, so accusing them of slandering Obama is ridiculous. Besides, they’ve genuinely published Bush-bashing articles, yet you don’t see any of his people reacting to those, do you? Are McCain supporters calling for blood over the unrelenting attacks on his age (from so-called “tolerant” liberals)? Obama better be careful or he’ll be percieved as a whiner.
