About.com's Conservative Politics Guide to be Featured on Sirius Talk Radio

While I've never been good at shameless self-promotion, it's necessary this time, I'm afraid.
For those readers whose burning desire in life has been to hear the melodious sound of my voice, now's your chance to live it up. Thursday, from 5:30 to 6 p.m., I will be the featured guest on Sirius Satellite Radio's "The Blog Bunker" on Indie Talk channel 110.
The broadcast won't be re-aired on my site (or anywhere else to my knowledge), so if you want to hear the show, Thursday's your only chance. It should be good for a laugh or two by the sound of things.
"It's a very casual kind of talk show," said Alexandra Di Trolio, who coordinated the interview. "Many of our stories and information come from blogs across the country. We are not time restricted when it comes to topics. We can talk about a topic as long as there is interest and people have something to say about it."
And don't worry about becoming bored with me. There should be at least two blogcast breaks during my interview, which will update listeners with the latest stories being reported around the Web.
"It's a very relaxed atmosphere -- we take the issues seriously but we don't take ourselves seriously," Di Trolio said. "We tend to have a little fun and joke around a little throughout the show to keep the show fun and entertaining."
The host is a guy by the name of Joe Salzone, who Di Trolio described as having "a very dry, sarcastic and snarky type of humor." According to Salzone's web site, he's a Ron Paul supporter, so that already elevates him in my book, but he's voting for Barack Obama, so I really don't know what to think. Which is good, because I'd rather go into this without any preconceived ideas.
"The best way to describe it perhaps, is as if you and your friends were sitting around discussing the issues -- you're taking them seriously and all have your opinions about them, however, you're also having fun and are enjoying the discussion," Di Trolio said. "... Passionate discussions are encouraged and everyone doesn't always agree, [but] we try not to get to the point where people are screaming at each other."
That's a relief, because I'm not the screaming type; and I really like the idea of sitting around shooting the breeze about politics. It's something I'm sure we all do on a regular basis.
So, if you feel like kicking back Thursday and listening to relaxing, enjoyable discussion about the political topics of the day (featuring my conservative perspective), tune in to Sirius channel 110. Don't have Sirius? No problem. You can listen online by taking advantage of Sirius' free three-day trial offer.
Talk to you then!
